The Future of Entertainment is here.
Governor Mike Kehoe has officially signed groundbreaking legislation creating a new entertainment district in downtown St. Louis, marking a major step toward revitalizing the city’s cultural and economic core. The new district will serve as a hub for nightlife, tourism, and business while implementing stronger safety measures to ensure a vibrant yet secure environment. The law grants the district authority to employ its own security force and hire off-duty police officers, giving the area around-the-clock protection and oversight. It also includes measures restricting minors from entering during late-night hours unless accompanied by an adult, keeping the focus on responsible entertainment. Beyond St. Louis, the bill opens the door for similar districts across Benton, Camden, Miller, and Morgan counties, as well as the City of Lake Ozark, amplifying Missouri’s entertainment landscape statewide. Signed at Union Station with local leaders in attendance, this legislation signals the dawn of a new era—one where Missouri takes center stage as a destination for excitement, safety, and growth.
